I like creating kettles, vases, and other types of vessels by
raising technique. Raising is a unique metalwork technique that
utilizes metal's ductile and malleable properties to shape a
two-dimensional sheet into a three-dimensional object.
Working
with sheet metal is something that requires extensive experience and
patience. It took repeated practices to achieve expertise and
demanded trial and error. That's why I'm working & studying in
Silver in motion. |

Artists use forms to create forms and from it create yet another new
and organized organic-like form. As such, forms are important to
artists as both materials and results. In addition, forms are like a
language artists use to communicate with other artists and the
audience.
I focused on dynamic attributes of form and explored the
relationship between form and the forces surrounding it. Form is
like a mediator between opposing forces. Form is positioned at the
boundaries of conflicting forces and is pushed to the more powerful
side when this balance is broken. Force also acts on static objects
and maintains the fixed external form amidst that state of
equilibrium. When force is applied on this static object, that form
changes again into a new shape. |
